Once upon a time (2020), a restless plant-slingin’ gal (me) ran out of flat surfaces to put all her plants on…

ABOUT

Hi! My name is Adela (she/her). I’m the owner and maker behind The Plondering, a mixed-fiber macramé & crystal goods shop based in North Carolina. Macramé and I met in 2020 while I was working at a local plant shop. It was early pandemic days, and I spent most of that time helping feed the new wave of pandemic plant parents with everything plant-care. As one of those plant people myself, I was having a hard time finding high-quality plant hangers that weren’t mass-produced, and in colors and sizes I wanted. I decided that I would make those plant hangers, and it quickly tumbled into the eclectic, macramé mish-mash you see now.

Since then I’ve expanded into other fiber art techniques and creations - I especially love one-of-a-kind custom pieces and crystal wall hangings! You can keep up to date with where you can find The Plondering in person here or by following me on Instagram!

  • Who…me? I’m a native North Carolinian, Chinese-American, and a Leo. I love coffee, plants, the beach, and Megan Thee Stallion. Nowadays you can find me gallivanting throughout RDU - likely with an iced Americano or a mocktail.

  • Ask me about private workshops! Great for birthdays, employee appreciation, or just because! Available in and near the RDU area of North Carolina. Guest minimum of 8.

  • I use 100% recycled cotton cord for all macramé pieces. This cord is made with post-consumer textile waste that is blended with like colors. I love this material because it’s soft, recycled, and strong! This is also the material that is provided in workshops!

  • Sometimes you have a specific plant or a specific spot in the home you want to put a plant hanger in. For customized plant hangers I will generally ask for:

    • Dimensions; of the plant(s), the pot(s), how long, etc

    • Color (s)

    • Any specific knots/flourish’s/inspo pics

  • Let’s make your vision come to life! All customs include an $80 design fee. For custom wall hangings I will generally ask for:

    • Dimensions

    • Color(s)

    • Styles, Inspo Pics

    • Timeline (if you are on one)

    • Budget

There will be times when I may not have the capacity to do certain projects, especially if you are on a tight timeline.
